A Message From Our Chairman
As Chairman of the Sedona Chamber Ballet, as well as active in many performing arts organizations throughout the Sedona region, I realized that there was an opportunity to pursue the arts with workshops, commissions and performances as well as support the development of new works though filmed, virtual and live experiences for local and global audiences. The goal is to establish Sedona as one of the top performing arts destinations in the world and is achievable as Sedona is widely recognized for its magical, natural splendor and has a well-established tourist-based infrastructure.
In the early winter of 2022 I was fortunate enough to meet a new Sedona resident, Christel Veraart, an award winning composer, musician and singer. We both recognized that Sedona is well positioned to achieve this goal and worked tirelessly on a strategic plan and the development of the branding, website and first phase of this project.
Sedona Chamber Ballet in conjunction with Christel Veraart, is thrilled to announce Reflections Festival whose goal is to celebrate the very best in the performing & visual arts. We plan to be Arizona’s annual performance celebration featuring master teachers, performers and emerging artists exploring contemporary life in light of world cultures & universal wisdom.
REFLECTIONS FESTIVAL plans to be a multi-genre exploration of multifaceted aspects of the human collective, aims to engage renowned composers, musicians, dancers, choreographers, storytellers, filmmakers and actors and make Northern Arizona the home of a word class retreat for education, exploration, collaboration and production in the performing and visual arts.
To that end, we have just completed Phase I as a seven minute film that explores authenticity. The film “Merope” will be released in the early Spring of 2023 and Phase II will explore Nostalgia.
